This Thursday we all join together to try and raise money for one of the best producers coming out of the Midwest, Boonie Mayfield (a.k.a Boondock).  Along with our efforts to rebuild his studio we are excited to celebrate the birthday of DJ Dozen and say farewell to newly signed local Producer Xperiment as he heads to Portland.  To set it off early, (8pm) we have a live producer showcase featuring; DJ Vajra, DJ Psycho, Kid Hum, Stro, DJ Cassidy, Dealz, and of course Boondock.  Cover charge is $5 and 100% of proceeds go to Boonie.  Hope to see yall for a great cause.

I teamed up with my dude Tullie from GPP and along with a whole crew of solid hip hop acts from Denver.  Going back to Bar Standard (I Know), this one off party is not to be missed.  Live painting from Newspeak artists, doors at 9pm.

The Solution moves to Shag Lounge for one night to celebrate the birthdays of our homies Charlie Cox & DJ Low Key with special guests Tanya Morgan and Che Grand.  Anyone who has been to this event in previous years knows that it be a ton of fun with live performances, giveaways and the best Hip Hop all night!

First off, what up world!  Its been waaaaay to long since my last post.  After a few hiccups with the sites host, a few attempts at “real life”, and a lot of procrastinating and back and ready to get caught up!

The summer has already been a beautiful one.  The Solution won best “Club Night in Denver”, for the second time in 3 years by the Westword, (theres no doubt we would have won it that 3rd time, but last year no such category was included…???).  And to follow it up I have been nominated for “Best Hip Hop DJ in Denver”, by the same magazine of choice here in CO, Westword.  This is my second time I have been nominated in the last 4 years.  To put the icing on the cake, alongside my name on the ballot are fellow Radio Bum crew members, Low Key, Vajra and Chonz!

I am very pleased to announce that beginning March 17th through April 20th I will be on board the gorgeous Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines finest vessel, “Liberty of the Seas”.   My role?  Acting on behalf of the Scratch Academy as “Celebrity Guest DJ”.  I have been apart of the Scratch Academy for almost 5 years now, teaching random DJ classes and spinning corporate events from time to time.  When I got the call this time around however, it was to my pleasant surprise not to be another retail mall store party.  Plus, the title itself is enough to get excited about.  “Celebrity Guest DJ”, when will I ever get this label again? LOL.  On board I will be mainly spinning the prime time slots at the three nightclubs, as well as happy hours, pool side and teaching a few scratch classes a week.  In the day, porting at destinations like Labadee, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya.  So if you head out to one of my weeklies over the next 5 weeks and notice my absence, don’t get scared, I’m somewhere safe under a palm tree on a beach.  Aye Aye!!!!!!

Oh and P.S., This is the actual ship I will be on.

DJ Low Key and myself have held down Denver’s best Hip Hop weekly for over three years now, and up until this point, doing a Solution tape has only been a dream.  We thought there was no better time to break the cycle of procrastination and finally get it done in time for the venue move to Bar Standard.  Well, we got U-N-I & Ro Blvd to host it and over a dozen exclusives and world premiers from cats like Donnis, Tanya Morgan (all doing individual joints as well), Othello, Moe Green, Mike Baker, Kooly High, DJ Day, Exile, Whygee, Kid Hum, and Che Grand to name a few.  The final product:

Saturday March 6th, the FrankRadio (Frank 151), tour moves through Denver with Wiz Khalifa and U-God (Wu Tang).  The after party at Sutra is the place to be. Fellow Radio Bums partner in crime DJ Bedz and myself will be holding it down as we welcome Jasmine Solano straight from New York to rock a special guest DJ set. 2-4-1 drinks until 11pm. The FrankRadio show is an 18+ event, meaning it will end early, so don’t half step coming out late thinking this will all pop off towards the end of the night. We are starting at 11pm in the mainroom and going hard all night…Good chance Wiz and U-God will also be in the building, DJ’s bring your drop recorders and feel free to go nuts, LOL.
